Your Account
Manage your profile, browse the member directory, and view other profiles.
Profile Settings
Click the avatar menu in the top-right corner, then select “Settings” to edit your profile. Select “Profile” to view your public profile as other members see it. All fields are optional.
Available fields
- Avatar
- Upload a profile photo (JPEG, PNG, or WebP, max 5MB). Photos are automatically resized and converted to WebP. Until you upload one, your initials are shown in a circle.
- Full Name
- Your real name. Pre-filled from the group directory. Shown on your recommendations and profile.
- Bio
- A short description, up to 280 characters.
- For itinerary exports and notifications (like weekly digests). Never shared publicly.
- Timezone
- Your preferred timezone, used to display times correctly. Auto-detected from your browser if not set.
- Homebase
- Where you're currently based. Shown as “Based in [City]” on your public profile and linked to the city page. Search for any city worldwide — if it's not already in the guide, it's created automatically.
- Social links
- LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, and website URLs. Shown as icons on your public profile.
- Location access
- Enable or reset browser location access. Used to center the map on your area — never stored on our servers. You can also grant access from the banner that appears on the map.
Changes are saved when you click “Save.” A confirmation toast appears at the bottom of the screen.
Member Directory
The member directory at /members shows all Dialog community contributors ranked by their recommendation count. Access it from the header menu.
Members list
Members are displayed in a paginated list (50 per page) showing rank, avatar, name or alias, recommendation count, and quote count.
Sorting and searching
Sort by Recommendations (default), Name, or Quotes. Use the search bar to find a specific member by name.
Unclaimed profiles
Members who have shared recommendations in the WhatsApp group but have not yet logged in to Dialog Travel appear with an “Unclaimed” badge. Their alias and Dialoger number are shown. When they log in, they claim their profile and the badge disappears.
Viewing Member Profiles
Click any member name — on the members page, in a quote attribution, or on a recommendation card — to view their public profile.
What you see
- Avatar (uploaded photo or initials)
- Display name (real name from the group directory)
- Bio (if provided)
- Homebase (“Based in Tokyo, Japan”) — if they have set one, linked to the city page
- Member since date
- Total recommendation count, quote count, and favorites count
- All their recommendations, grouped by city
- All their quotes, linked to the relevant places
Unclaimed profiles (members who haven't logged in yet) show as “Dialoger #N” with a placeholder avatar until they sign up and claim their profile.
