Join the community, set up your account, and understand how Dialog Travel works.
What is Dialog Travel
Dialog Travel is a private travel guide built from the real recommendations of the Dialog community — a curated, invite-only network of senior leaders across government, business, technology, academia, and the arts.
When members share restaurant tips, hotel recommendations, or hidden gems in the Dialog WhatsApp group, our system captures those recommendations and organizes them into a beautiful, searchable travel guide with interactive maps, city pages, and detailed place profiles.
This is not a public review site. Every recommendation comes from someone in your network — people you know and trust. Think of it as the collective travel wisdom of the Dialog community, distilled into one place.
Dialog Travel is available exclusively to current members of the Dialog WhatsApp group. You need the phone number linked to your WhatsApp account to sign in.
How to Log In
Logging in requires only your phone number — the one linked to your WhatsApp account. The system verifies that you are a current member of the Dialog group.
Enter your phone number
Visit dialog.travel and enter your phone number. The input automatically detects your country code — if you paste a number like +44 7700 900123, the country code dropdown switches to the United Kingdom and formats the remaining digits.
Membership verification
The system checks whether your phone number belongs to a current Dialog group member. This takes a moment.
Create your password (first time)
On your first login, you will create a password. Requirements: at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character. Each requirement lights up green as you meet it.
You are in
After successful login, you land on the world map showing all recommendations from the community. Your session lasts 30 days.
Returning users enter their phone number and password. After 5 failed attempts, you will be locked out for 5 minutes. If you forget your password, use the “Forgot password?” link on the login page to reset it via email.
Claiming Your Profile
If you have shared travel recommendations in the Dialog group before joining the platform, the system has already captured them. When you log in for the first time, your existing recommendations are waiting for you.
Shadow profiles
For every person who has shared recommendations in the group, the system creates a placeholder profile — called a shadow profile. Each shadow profile has a pre-generated alias (like “Wandering Falcon”) and a Dialoger number (e.g., Dialoger #12).
The welcome screen
When you log in and the system matches your phone to an existing shadow profile, you see a welcome screen: “Welcome back! We found N of your recommendations across M cities.”
Your real name (matched from the group directory) is displayed on all your recommendations and quotes. You can update it anytime in Profile Settings.
If no recommendations were found for your phone number, you skip the claiming step and go straight to the map.
Privacy & Security
All profiles are public within the Dialog community. Your real name appears on your recommendations, quotes, and profile — the same transparency you have in the WhatsApp group itself.
What is never shared
- Your phone number is hashed immediately — the raw number is never stored
- Your email is never displayed publicly
- Your IP address is used only for security and anonymized after 90 days
- No third-party tracking cookies are used
- The entire app requires authentication — nothing is visible to non-members
Your group membership is re-verified periodically. If you are removed from the Dialog WhatsApp group, your access to Dialog Travel is deactivated.
